Yesterday was the sold out Kaja Kookout in Miami Gardens.
After checking in at the gate, I saw a line outside and learned it was to purchase food. I bought Bulgogi and Gimbap then sat down and talked with two very sweet girls and their guardians. I was already having fun when the doors opened at 6pm. After the introduction from the men behind Kaja Events was the kpop dance cover contest.
Next came the performers. TK Park was first and he’s so talented. I enjoyed watching him play the piano and it was refreshing to hear someone cover Dynamic Duo. Sal V Maknae performed second. One of the songs he performed was his collaboration with J.R.E. I hope to see them on stage together one day. JC Park went last. He performed songs from his upcoming EP. At the end, it was announced that CS Entertainment will bring H.U.B (Hope You Bounce) to Miami this summer! I’m already looking forward to it. Thank you Kaja Events and everyone who worked on putting this event together.

Craving a real burger?
A friend of mine told me about a delicious burger he had and I found myself going there the following weekend.
Boss Burger and Brew is located in Hialeah near Miami Lakes. They open late and serve a huge selection of brew to go with your burger. I visited several times in order to make this post and their employees were always nice. The first picture is the “Pancho Villa”. An 8oz beef burger with guacamole, bacon, cheese, fried egg, lettuce and tomato.
Looks like M.Fect is going to be Miami’s first kpop idol group to visit this year.
Last year, Studio PAV M & C announced

South Florida will have the opportunity to see the highest grossing anime film next month.
According to Funimation, Your Name (Kimi no Na wa 君の名は) by Makoto Shinkai is a Japanese animated film about two high schoolers. “…. Mitsuha and Taki are complete strangers living separate lives. But one night, they suddenly switch places. Mitsuha wakes up in Taki’s body, and he in hers. This bizarre occurrence continues to happen randomly, and the two must adjust their lives around each other.” According to Forbes, it is “a visually stunning masterpiece with refreshingly understated warmth.” Variety believes “this vividly realized and emotionally satisfying feature ought to make Shinkai a household name — certainly in Japan, and with any luck, in other countries as well.” The film is now the highest grossing anime worldwide.
Yesterday after I logged on Facebook, I received an exciting notification from Kaja Events.

Markus Gottschlich, founder of Jazz Academy Miami, brought Black String (블랙스트링) to perform after his trip to Asia. The group was founded in 2011 and they bring a new sound to world music. According to SORI NYC, “This new sound will be interpreted by artists who embrace traditional music as well as jazz, reflecting both composed and improvised creations.”
